My yoga teacher training (YTT-200) with Tandy was absolutely wonderful! She's so genuine and kind. Tandy is extremely knowledgeable about yoga philosophy and subjects and it’s obvious while training with her how experienced and current she is as a yoga instructor. Tandy is well-versed in a variety of techniques beyond poses (asanas) and matching movement to breathe. Her program provides lessons on pranayama, meditation, yoga Nidra and how these all relate to helping manage chronic pain issues, which is why I chose this program. I feel more than confident to be home, develop a stronger personal practice and teach adult students of all ages and backgrounds.
The setting and location are beyond amazing. It is so beautiful there. Tandy is in a separate cottage right next door. Tandy is both a wonderful teacher and person. She accompanied me throughout the training knowing how to guide me, pushing me to my limits in order to lead me to the path of yoga. I really felt that Tandy saw me, and where I am at this moment of my life, regarding my physical, mental, spiritual and emotional practice of yoga, as she encouraged me gently but firmly to pursue my path. It is possible to have very deep spiritual conversations with her, just as much as it is possible to have concrete, fruitful, fact-packed exchanges about anatomy, physiology and teaching techniques. I got proper hands-on teaching experience and also personal guided asana practice. I got to participate in her classes and observe her teaching. This course highly exceeded any expectations I ever had for any Yoga Teacher Training course. There was lots of online coursework with constant discussion questions through email and Skype calls directly with Tandy to deepen your learning of each module. The week retreat portion was fantastic, a week in beautiful rural France with delicious home cooked food prepared for you for every meal. A week of full days of discussion and practical work with refreshing walks in the countryside. The absolute best thing about this course is that you have this incredibly knowledgeable and passionate teacher’s full attention to answer and discuss in depth anything you need more information on or feel unprepared for. Having recently completed my masters degree in advanced physiotherapy, including modules on managing pain, acupuncture and psychological therapies, this book was a great read. Tandy has included well known researchers in the pain field throughout the book. The subject of 'pain' can be dry and hard to swallow particularly if one is suffering with pain, yet Tandy has put this book together in an easily readable format with useful anecdotes and methods for readers to understand and also use themselves. I have already recommended this book to a few of my patients!

The medical model has totally failed to get to grips with chronic and even acute pain. We can relearn to use oour bodies instead of abusing them and it is not difficult to do. All the new research shows us that there is so much we can use to help when things get tough and we have pain. This book says it all. It is relly a primer on how the body works and how to change from croinic pain to chronic good health and ease in living. Do read and an learn that when your Dr says you will have to live with this... or there is nothing we can do for ou you will probably be able to recover. .You can change it. THIS BOOK IS A TREASURE.
I have been a practitioner for almost 60 years. I treat both bodies and minds and already I have recommended this book to 2 of my patients. The medical model is out of date. I work with so many with chronic pain and illness and lives have been and are being turned around but the very ideas and practices in this book. Learning to loosen the muscles in aging or injury, great nutrition , caring for the wonderful body we have all pays off massively. This book is so helpful.
